motherjane headlines JRO 2009 July 4th in Chennai

26 June 2009

Been a little quiet here after the flurry of activity with the band launching the new Indian Myspace Music Hub and headlining the 1st ever Secret Show by Myspace in India , we all  would like to thank the hundreds of new fans who joined the band’s ‘ myspace site in June !

The band once again has the pleasure of performing in Chennai on July 4th at the JRO 2009 Festival , motherjane will close the event but many talented bands will also be performing starting on July 3 .

Some of Detials from the Unwind Center   the host of the Festival :

THE BEAST HAS BEEN AWAKENED!!
JRO IS READY TO ROAR AGAIN!!
The list for 2009 is out and the expectations are firing up! This phenomenon happens ever year – some folks get disappointed and some hit blitzkrieg levels and are hard to bring back to normalcy!

Weather Forecast: We are prepared to face the rain! (It’s a not-so-secret yarn that JRO brings the rain! Rain or shine, we intend to rock!)

Please help spread the word of the Festival as I have said many times the fans are the best promoters the band could ever wish for :)

Enjoy the Weekend , I am hoping to have one day sunshine it has rained here for 3 weeks but life is still  a smile !

I was at the JRO (being a Chennaiite, I had no excuse to miss!). And MotherJane blew the freaking heads off everyone present there.
I could only equate this band to Dream Theater (one of my all time favs). These guys are going places and my heartiest wishes for their upcoming performance in Indonesia ! Phew, if only I could get there.

    Peace.

    • This was the best Mother Jane gig I have ever seen, I have been living in chennai all my life and I watched JRO Ever since it first started 11 years ago, there have been so many bands that I have watched over the last 11 JRO festivals but I have never seen such a good performance ever, last nights show was amazing, Powerful guitar riffs, progessive playing, the fusion of carnatic music with a mixture of progressive rock , there is so much Dream Theater Influence in your songs but there is a touch of added indian flavour, all in all I love your music, I have been a fan of Mother Jane ever since I saw you perform in chennai at JRO about 8 years back and you guys keep getting better and better, Good luck with the show at Indonesia, tell the world that we indians can rock too, as for you guys mother jane, you dont have to talk, your music does all the talking, and the next time youre in chennai i will not miss it, i never miss your shows, youre one of the best bands I have heard live in a long long time. Thanks for coming to chennai and cheers, all the best.

  4. u guys stole the show at jro man…tat was awesome…i traveled nearly 30k.m from ma place and got back home late nite since ur music was kick ass…keep rockin

  5. The performance was jaw-dropping. This is my second visit to a Motherjane gig and the experience has been progressive; I’m beginning to get addictive to your form of music. You were the star of the whole gig. You are the only Indian band to achieve a near-perfect blend of classic Indian and metal music. Keep up the great work and all the best in Indonesia.

Go kick some ass in Indonesia :)
